Creating PLU Prompt Pages (Post Modifier Lookup Page)

Created by Matthew Bartels, Modified on Wed, 19 Feb at 1:16 PM by Matthew Bartels

A Post Modifier Lookup Page in PowerEPOS is a prompt page that automatically appears when a PLU is ordered, allowing for selection of a sales modifier or size variant.

This differs from a standard PLU Prompt Lookup Page, which is used for adding additional PLUs or cooking instructions.

Configuring a "Post Modifier Lookup Page"

Follow these steps to create a Post Modifier Lookup Page in PowerEPOS:

Step 1: Ensure Sales Modifiers Are Configured

Before proceeding, ensure that your required sales modifiers, sizes, and prices are set up correctly.

Click here for more details on configuring sales modifiers.

Step 2: Create a New Prompt Page

  1. Access the Touchscreen Editor in POS System Manager.
  2. Select the option to Insert a New Page.

  3. Name the page in a way that makes sense (e.g., "Prompt – Slushie Size" for easy identification).
  4. Leave the columns and rows as default.
  5. In the Page Type dropdown, select "Post Modifier Lookup Page".

  6. Click Save to create the page.

Step 3: Edit and Format the Page

  1. Double-click the newly created page to open it for editing.

  2. Format the page as needed. It is recommended to include a clear heading at the top to help staff understand what the prompt is for.

  3. For action buttons, set the Key Type to "Sale Post Modifier Key".

  4. In the Settings section, assign the "Uses" field to the modifier you wish to apply.
  5. Click Save and Close to finalize the page setup.

Adding Your Prompt Page to a PLU

Once your Post Modifier Lookup Page is created, it needs to be assigned to the relevant PLU so that it appears on the POS when ordering.

Step 1: Assign the Prompt Page to a PLU

  1. Open POS System Manager (PSM) and navigate to the PLU List.
  2. Select the PLU you want to configure and open its settings.

  3. Go to the Prompts section.

  4. If no prompts are configured, click "Click here to add a new entry", or press Insert (bottom right of the screen).

  5. Under "Prompt for", select "Post Sale Modifier Prompt".
  6. Under "Prompt using", choose the name of the page you just created.

  7. Click Save to assign the prompt to the PLU.
  8. Close the PLU screen and publish changes to register the prompt.

Additional Configuration & Support

If you need to apply the same prompt to multiple PLUs, a PLU Prompt Template may be used.
